Location.Built in 1890, Santa Catalina is an English colonial-style hotel set in lush gardens and located in the parkland area of Ciudad Jardin in Las Palmas. It is just one kilometre from the historic old town and three kilometres from Canteras Beach. Las Palmas Airport is located 25 kilometres away, a 20-minute drive.
Hotel Features. Guests have complimentary admission to the 2800-square-metre spa centre, which offers relaxation with Turkish baths, a Finnish sauna, a hot tub, therapeutic massages (surcharge), and health and beauty treatments (surcharge). Guests of Santa Catalina can swim in the indoor and outdoor pools, and the poolside terraces are dotted with sun loungers and surrounded by lush gardens. Santa Catalina offers a range of dining options: Arencibia serves typical Canarian and international food accompanied by live piano music and with an extensive wine cellar; Bar Piscina offers a range of drinks and Mediterranean snacks in the gardens next to the pool, and Bar Carabela serves a selection of snacks, drinks and cocktails on the terrace.
Guestrooms. The 202 guestrooms, over four floors, are decorated in a colonial style with refined furnishings and polished wooden floors. Amenities include balconies, cable television with pay movies, complimentary Internet connections, direct-dial phones, minibars, air conditioning and wheelchair access.
Expert Tip.The city of Las Palmas is flanked by the sandy beaches of Las Canteras and Las Alcaravaneras. The old town, one kilometre from the hotel, features some of the city's most significant buildings, such as the Cathedral, the Museum of Columbus, the Old Town Hall and the Episcopal Palace.
